One summer holiday, a boy makes a new friend, Kim. What begins as a simple summer friendship soon becomes the very best time of his life. Kim makes everything brighter and more exciting; Kim makes him feel funny and adventurous. But all too soon, the holidays end and Kim – and all the possibilities and hope she brings with her – is gone. There is still so much the boy wants to do, still so much he wants to say…

Years later…
The boy – now an adult – finds his photobook from that summer. Looking back, he discovers that stories have the power to keep people close. So, he begins painting and brings the photobook to his publisher. The book you are holding, Kim, are his memories and how they make him feel. He hopes, with all his heart, that Kim might see this, too … and know that every word is true.
