Ollie Mitchell's Ghosts

Ollie Mitchell's Ghosts

An uplifting story about an unlikely friendship and the supportive power of community, from master storyteller David Almond.

DAYNGER! HORRA!! DO NOT ENTTER HELL AWATES!!!

Since his da died, Ollie Mitchell is obsessed with turning his family’s battered old caravan into a fairground attraction. A SCARY one, with dangling skulls and creepy-crawlies and warnings in blood-red paint. The neighbours think it’s a bit weird, but Davie agrees to help. The two boys paint signs and hang bones and make plans, and as the summer wears on, other kids get involved. Then a local TV station hears about it, and suddenly a project borne out of grief becomes a source of pride for the whole estate.

A Carnegie Medal-winning author returns to his 1960s North-East roots in this joyful celebration of friendship and the power of community in the face of loss.
