Where do you go when home is gone? What do you have when you have only hope?
This moving story about having to leave home comes from award-winning author, Gideon Strerer, whose powerful wordless storyline is paired with raw, emotive illustrations from artist Polina Doroshenko who herself had to escape Kyiv in Ukraine at the start of the war with her daughter. Two girls live opposite each other with their families and their cats. But one day, when conflict arrives in their home city, they all have to take the overnight train together, away from the place they love. Through the eyes of the two feline friends we glimpse at the pain of relocating under extreme circumstances, and imagine a fantastical hopeful future to come.
